Precision Components for
Hybrid Platforms

Precision-engineered aluminum components for HEV, PHEV, and mild hybrid platforms, backed by a reliable, end-to-end global supply chain. Hybrid programs are the most complex sourcing challenge in automotive — combining a traditional powertrain with full electrification under one architecture. MES is built for it.

The Approach

We help hybrid manufacturers deliver the next generation of HEV, PHEV, and mild hybrid platforms with precision-engineered aluminum components, backed by a global supply chain built for automotive’s zero-defect standards.

Every component is produced through the process best suited to its application — die casting for thin-wall housings, forging for high-load structural parts, extrusion for battery enclosures and structural rails, and CNC machining for the precision interfaces that tie them together. One partner, the full aluminum parts catalog, ICE to EV.

Spotlight

A hybrid carries two powertrains: an internal-combustion system and a full electric drive. That means your supply chain has to deliver traditional powertrain and chassis parts and battery, motor, and inverter components — usually from a dozen different suppliers, each with its own quality system and lead time.

MES single-sources the entire aluminum catalog across both worlds:

ICE + EV in one program

From eCVT housings to battery enclosures, under one framework

Supplier consolidation

Die casting, forging, extrusion, investment casting, and machining, one accountable partner

Capacity when it’s tight

A global network across three continents as North American die-casting supply constricts

Source-verified quality

IATF 16949 supplier network, PPAP-compliant, inspected on the floor

FAQ

Hybrids require precision aluminum components across the whole vehicle: eCVT and transmission housings, e-motor housings, inverter and power-control-unit housings, battery enclosures and trays, cooling plates, front subframes, suspension knuckles, control arms, and a range of mounts and structural brackets.
Hybrid programs rely on a combination. High-pressure die casting handles transmission, motor, and inverter housings; forging delivers high-load suspension and chassis parts; aluminum extrusion is dominant for battery enclosures and cooling plates; and CNC machining provides the precision interfaces across all of them.
Aluminum offers the strength-to-weight ratio, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and recyclability hybrids require. Lightweighting is critical because a hybrid carries both a combustion and an electric powertrain, and every kilogram saved improves fuel economy and electric-only range.
Most commonly through aluminum extrusion with CNC machining and friction-stir-welded or fastened assembly — producing a lightweight, rigid enclosure that protects the cells, manages thermal load through integrated cooling, and meets crash-safety requirements.
Hybrid transmission and motor housings typically require precision machining at bearing seats, sealing surfaces, and gear interfaces. Concentricity and balance are especially critical for e-motor housings.
Aluminum die castings (A380, ADC12, and equivalents), aluminum extrusions (6000-series), aluminum forgings (6061, 7075), magnesium alloys for select applications, and a range of steels for forged powertrain and chassis components.
MES provides design-for-manufacturability support, prototype development, PPAP-compliant pilot runs, and full-scale serial production. Every customer gets a dedicated supply chain specialist and planner for single-point accountability from sourcing through last-mile delivery.
MES has been ISO 9001:2015 certified since 2009 and partners with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certified suppliers globally. MES is also a recognized Minority Certified Company through SCOMBC, supporting OEM and Tier-1 supplier-diversity requirements.
